When We Served a Tea Party at Google
There are some events you set up and quietly leave behind.
And then there are the ones you can feel the moment you walk in.
Our recent tea party at Google was one of those moments.

From the second we arrived, carrying flowers through the office, people began stopping us to ask, “What’s happening?” and “When do we get tea?” Google people clearly love tea — and the excitement started long before the table was even finished.
The flowers came first. As soon as we walked in with armfuls of blooms, people were already taking photos from the entrance. That is always a good sign. Before the tea is poured, before the desserts are plated, the mood is already working.

In just 30 minutes, we transformed the space. And when the table came together, the reaction was immediate: so many “wow”s, so many surprised faces, so many phones lifted for pictures. The gathering was a surprise celebration for a business executive and her team, and no one saw it coming.
That made it even better.

One of our favorite moments was hearing someone say, “I wish I had dressed up for this — put on makeup, oh my God, this is insane.” That’s exactly the kind of reaction we hope for. Not because the table is extravagant, but because it changes how people feel in the middle of an ordinary workday.
The nougat was a favorite for a very practical reason: it paired beautifully with tea and gave people energy before an early meeting. Many hadn’t eaten lunch yet because of Google’s famously long lunch lines, so the nougat became the perfect in-between treat — elegant, satisfying, and energizing.
nd then there was the mousse cake.
The clear hit of the day was the yogurt passion fruit mousse. People loved the bright design, the light sweetness, and how refreshing it felt. It was the kind of dessert that surprises people: beautiful to look at, delicate to eat, and gone very quickly.

By the end of the event, we heard the words every brand hopes for:
Google wants to book us again for their Thank You Partner Day.
For us, that is the heart of Hill House.
Not just serving tea. Not just setting a table. But creating a moment people didn’t expect — and won’t forget.
