About Hill House Decor: Where Hosting Becomes the New Luxury.

I used to design for screens. Now I design for time.
After 15 years building products at the intersection of tech and design, I learned the most coveted luxury isn’t a thing—it’s unhurried time with people you love. I’m 40, a mom of two, and my happiest moments happen around a table: hands wrapped around warm tea cups, kids stealing cookies, friends lingering long after the plates are cleared.

It started small—I hosted. Weekend teas, birthday brunches, quiet celebrations just because. Friends noticed that our home on the hill felt different: California-casual ease with material luxury—pressed linens, weighty glassware, florals that stayed stunning. Not “Pinterest-perfect,” just perfectly us.

Then the texts began:
“How did you choose those napkins?”
“What’s the secret to a calm table?”
“Can you help me host?”

I realized it wasn’t only décor people were asking for. They were asking for permission to slow down, to make ordinary afternoons feel meaningful—without needing a design degree or a storage closet of ‘someday’ purchases. A community formed. We hosted charity teas, taught simple hosting rituals, and watched neighbors become friends.

So I built Hill House Decor—a company that started in my home and now serves homes like yours. Our style is California casual + material luxury: natural light, breathable textures, thoughtful weight and finish. But the real differentiator is our method: we don’t decorate; we design a MOOD.

  • Mood over merch. Instead of sending you links and telling you to shop, we learn your occasion and design the feeling you want people to carry home.

  • No guesswork. You don’t have to scroll, pin, or panic. We assemble the complete tablescape—linens, florals, china, candles, accents—and make it effortless to host beautifully.

  • Tactile first. I don’t believe digital art can replace touch. You can see a photo, but you can’t feel quiet in a photo. You feel it at the table.

Example: “FOCUS” for an Executive Meeting

When a client needed a boardroom reset, we built a FOCUS mood: a restrained palette, clean lines, graphite menus, low-profile arrangements that never block sightlines, precision-placed utensils, and a tea service paced to the agenda. Nothing shouted; everything aligned attention. The room didn’t just look focused—it felt focused.

Try Before You Commit: The Tea Experience

To keep our promise of tactile design, we created The Tea Experience—a deliverable, fully styled tea with cookies and curated blends that lets you experience a mood before booking a larger design. We set it up. You live in it. If it’s a fit, we scale to your celebration. If not, you still had a beautiful afternoon.

Hill House Decor exists to make hosting the easiest part of your life again. Because luxury isn’t only what you own. It’s how you gather.
